cooking until I get a perfect 5/5
Easy recipes, tasty tips, endless fun in your kitchen.
Why I’m writing a blog
As a culinary student, the majority of my practice takes place in my own kitchen. Since moving in together me and my partner have gotten into this fun little habit of rating any new recipes I test or come up with
This started when I got a little recipe book to log the good ones for my boyfriend, he wants me to teach him how to cook and anything that gets a really good rating from both of us goes in the book

we have two new dishes to add to the roster this week. First we have a coconut lamb curry with carrots and baby potatoes and a few slices of naan. I’ve made curries before for us before but this was first one that got a perfect 5/5 . To quote what my boyfriend said “ this. is way better the lamb kashmiri “, kashmiri is a curry we get from a spot in town. So hearing that made me very happy. I gave the curry a 4.5/5, i honestly can’t ever give myself a perfect score because I know it can always be made better. All in all a 9.5/10 isn’t to bad.
A perfect example would be the other dish from this week, this was instant noodles made slightly more nutritious. Instant noodles with a chipotle fried egg, stir fried carrots and some leftover crispy fried chicken. This dish is exactly what i mean when i want to give an example of something that could be made better, to be honest it was a bit to salty for my taste but I would have to blame the flavour packet in the noodles for that. This meal got a depressing 2.5 from my boyfriend and maybe a 3 from me for a total of 5.5/10. Definitely not the best i have ever done but thats what this blog is for. Holding myself accountable in order to better myself in the kitchen.
